Challenge to achieve: One click to close a PowerPoint Show presentation.

In a previous tutorial of this PowerPoint to Secure PDF series, we learned how to set PDF to play in full screen mode. If your PDF is playing full screen, and you want it to look like a presentation, it's a great idea to add page transitions, so that it mimics a PowerPoint presentation.

Follow these steps to add page transitions in Adobe Acrobat Pro:

  1. Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro. From the Edit menu, choose the Preferences option, as shown in Figure 1, below.
  2. Preferences
    Figure 1: Preferences
  3. Doing so opens the Preferences dialog box, as shown in Figure 2, below. Select the Categories option on the left pane, and then locate the Full Screen option on the right side.
  4. Full Screen

  5. Here, you can set the preferences for displaying your slideshow in full screen mode. You can set the slideshow to loop after the last page and set the advance to a preset time (in seconds). This approach allows you to set how long each slide pauses before transitioning to the next page (slide).
  6. Under Full Screen Transition options, you can choose any of the available transitions. Figure 3, below, shows the list of Default transitions. Select the transition you want, and then click the OK button to apply.

  8. Save the PDF.

In the next tutorial of this series, we'll explore how to password protect a PDF using Adobe Acrobat Pro.
