There are essentially three types of connectors that you can use to link shapes in PowerPoint 2013 for Windows. Also, you can add any of these three connectors (Straight, Elbow, or Curved) as per your requirements. However, what will you do if you added a connector of one type and later realize that you should have used a different type? You need not delete the existing connector and draw another one because PowerPoint allows you to change from one connector type to another fairly easily:

  1. Carefully select just the connector (not the shapes that it connects to). Then, right-click to get the contextual menu shown in Figure 1.
  2. Contextual menu brought up by right-clicking the connector

  3. Within the contextual menu, choose the Connector Types option (highlighted in red within Figure 1, above) to bring out the sub-menu you see in Figure 2. Click on the connector type that you want to change to.
  4. Choose new connector type

  5. In Figure 3, you can see that the Straight Connector has been changed into an Elbow Connector (compare to Figure 1).

  7. Save your presentation often.
