You have already learned about all the amazing stuff you can do with connectors in your PowerPoint 2010 slides -- all the way from drawing connectors to formatting connectors. Many times when you draw connectors between shapes, the connector may use the shortest path between two shapes -- this might mean that your connector overlaps other shapes, text boxes, or any other object that you don't want to overlap. You might have another reason to use a longer connector between two shapes as well -- whatever your reason may be, the good news is that you can easily reroute your connectors -- either automatically or manually.

These points are typically those that show red squares when you are attaching them to a connector. Sometimes you may attach your connector to the wrong red square, and may need to detach it from that point, and attach it somewhere else. Or maybe you connected to the wrong shape altogether, and now want to detach the connector from one shape and attach it to another.

Connectors may be different than lines in certain ways because they are linked to the shapes they connect -- move the linked shape, and the connector repositions itself with the shape. Yet in other ways, connectors are just like conventional lines in PowerPoint, especially when you explore their formatting options.
