Imagine you have inserted a picture in PowerPoint 2013, and then applied various picture editing options to enhance its appearance. For example, we added a border, applied some Picture Effects, etc. And then you realize that you have a better picture, or your boss asked you to change the existing picture to another one, but with all the same effects! You would probably delete the original picture and start all over again, and yes, that is a long process! Or you can change any existing picture into another with just a couple of clicks -- retaining all effects.

When you insert a video clip in PowerPoint, you may find that the inserted video starts playing abruptly when started within the Slide Show view, causing a jarring interruption to the flow of your slides. Not only can the sudden movement within the video clip area disrupt the flow, but the instant playing of a video clip may appear as a surprise. This sort of disruption can be worse if you have trimmed your video clip. Clearly this is not a very professional or acceptable state of affairs. Fortunately, this is avoidable if you opt to add Fade In and Fade Out effects to the beginning and end of your video clip.

PowerPoint is a slide program but that doesn't mean that it does not have some cool picture editing tricks up its sleeve. When we say "cool", we certainly do not mean just inserting a picture, or even the fact that you can apply corrections or recolor hues. PowerPoint 2013 provides around 23 filters as part of its Artistic Effects options. Some of these filters (effects) can make your pictures look like paintings or sketches, and others can change the texture of your pictures.

After adding Bookmarks to video clips in PowerPoint 2013, you may want to know how you can edit and remove those Bookmarks. At this point of time, let's state some facts -- we have bad news and good news. The bad news is that PowerPoint does not let you edit the inserted Bookmarks -- for instance, you cannot change the time of the Bookmark from 25 seconds to 28 seconds. You will have to remove the Bookmark you wanted to edit, and add a new Bookmark all over again! On the other hand, removing a Bookmark is easy -- and that is the good news!

Working with pictures in PowerPoint 2013 can be so much fun and fulfilling at the same time. One of the coolest options is to recolor the hue of your entire picture so that it looks almost like a duotone picture. You have already learned how to apply corrections to your inserted pictures -- and this Color option can help you do more with your pictures. Be aware though that although the option itself is called Color, it does not work like a coloring book -- rather it changes the overall hue color of the entire picture. This option also allows you to saturate color values, change the overall color tone, and do more.

If you want your inserted video clip to play from a certain point within the video clip, you can actually trim the video so that it only plays the parts you want. However, there is another elegant solution that lets you achieve the same results, and do even more. This feature is called a Bookmark - it is similar to the conventional bookmarks you place within the pages of a book you are reading. Just like how you can easily go to that particular page with the help of a bookmark, the Bookmark you add to a video clip becomes an indicator of the position you want to go to.

PowerPoint 2013 accepts more video file formats than previous versions, and can do a lot more with videos, including trimming of video clips. When you insert video clips in your presentations, you may find that the video clip inserted may be too long. Or maybe you just need to show part of the video clip, rather than wasting your audience's time showing them the entire clip. Yes, you can use the Player Controls bar to scrub and play the clip from exactly where you want it to begin. However, scrubbing a clip in front of an audience can appear unprofessional. Another way is to trim the video clip outside PowerPoint in a dedicated video program. You have one more option, and that is to use the Trim Video option within PowerPoint to get the results.

In your chart, Axis Labels are the labels for the Categories and Values on chart axes. So where do these labels come from? Category axis labels reflect the Category names within your data (typically within the built-in Excel sheet). Values on the other hand are determined by PowerPoint based upon the maximum value in your data -- the minimum value is always set to zero. Of course you can change the Minimum and Maximum values if you want.
