Most PowerPoint designers love to have white space on their slides, but there will always be demands from clients to include more and more content. Now, this is not a great idea because slides need to be aesthetic and focused–and adding so much more textual or any other content negates the very idea of well-designed slides. Adding extra content is, therefore, a compromise that you should avoid. In the real world, there will be many reasons to cram this content, and the immediate result is that designers have to use a font size that’s smaller than what they started with. But really speaking, what is the smallest font size that you can use?

After inserting a video within your presentation, you may see a blank/black rectangle instead—caused by the file format of the video clip inserted on the slide. Not all the formats show these blank/black rectangles. In fact, you may also see the first frame of the video clip in some cases. However, if you do see this blank/black rectangle, do note that it may look professional. With PowerPoint's Poster Frame option, you can easily overcome this limitation, and change the black rectangle to a picture of your choice by selecting a frame from the video itself, or even a picture from a different source.

Similar to Shape Styles that you apply to shapes, PowerPoint provides you with Video Styles for your inserted video clips. These pre-built Video Styles add edges, shapes, and effects to videos, and apply with just a single click. Your videos no longer need to be rectangular. Some of the Video Styles make the video clip to play within an oval or a rounded rectangle. Video Styles also transform the look of your inserted videos by applying borders, 3-D effects, shadows, frames, etc. around your video clip.

Sometimes, the original look of the inserted video may not work well with the color palette of your presentation. In such situations, you could play around with the brightness and contrast for an inserted video by using the Corrections option. Additionally, you can also completely recolor your inserted video. Further, you can make your full-color video appear as a grayscale video, or even like a duotone video such as blue and grayscale. Do remember that the video Color options work almost similar to the Color options for the pictures.
