PowerPoint 2016 continues providing several views that enable you to view and edit your slides. Unarguably, Normal view is the default and most often used view. This view displays one slide at a time in the Slide Area, and is used mainly for editing and creating slides, and shows PowerPoint's typical tri-pane interface that includes the Slides Pane, the Slide Area, and the Notes Pane.

Your slides remain the same, yet the various views in PowerPoint make exploring those same slides a little different. This approach makes sense because viewing slides in Slide Show view gives an entirely different perspective than editing them in Normal view. Further, it's easier to reorder and work with multiple slides in Slide Sorter view and make changes to individual slides in Normal view.
All put together, PowerPoint 2016 provides you with ten different views. Eight of these views can be accessed from the View tab of the Ribbon.

When you insert any shape into your PowerPoint slide, more often than not you will want to make some changes to the default shape that you end up with. An Indezine reader, whom I met in person described the PowerPoint double-byte font scare as a poisonous king cobra snake! Although this sounds like an exaggeration, this thought has lingered with me for many years. Let's take this dramatic approach further. Sooner or later, you will see PowerPoint look at you like a cobra that’s showing its fangs, and is ready to bite. You want to make sure you are not bitten, and wouldn't it be nice if the cobra quietly goes back to its hole and rests there in peace and leaves you alone?
