Explore PowerPoint's Morph transition effect that lets you achieve amazing results easily and quickly. Playing with Morph in PowerPoint

We explore beginning with Morph in our Getting Started with Morph in PowerPoint tutorial. Here are some guidelines for making the most of the Morph transition effect:

  • Do not use Morph as an afterthought. Morph is one transition that needs to be planned, right from the very beginning of your slide creation process.
  • Explore how other folks are using the Morph transition. Our Presglossary page on Morph has links to many sample slides.
  • Do remember not to use Morph for every slide. Use it sparingly to get best results.
  • Although Morph is a transition, the results are more animation-like, as you end up animating individual slide objects between slides. So a good look at some animation guidelines will help.
  • While you may expect Morph transition effects to play in Microsoft 365 subscriber versions of PowerPoint, Morph transitions also seem to work in updated non-subscriber, perpetual version of PowerPoint 2016. Of course, they also play in subsequent perpetual versions such as PowerPoint 2021 and 2019. However, you can only add and edit Morph transitions in Microsoft 365 subscriber versions of PowerPoint, and 2021 or 2019. Morph is not supported in versions of PowerPoint older than 2016.
